Reporting Your Child's Absence:
If you wish to report your child absent before 8:00 am, please call (330) 854-5709 and leave a detailed message, including the following information:
If calling after 8:00 am, please call the main office at (330) 854-3303.
In both instances, when the child returns to school, please send a note or doctor's excuse for the day's absence. Please be sure to include the date of absence.
Tardies:
If a student is not in class by the 7:30 a.m. bell, they are considered tardy. Tardy hours will be added together and may result in a report being filed with the Stark County family court system, in accordance with Ohio House Bill 410.
Absences:
A note should always be provided for an absence. Notes can be from the parent or a doctor. If absences become excessive (65 or more hours at any point in a school year), the school may require that all future absences be excused by a doctor.
State law requires that excessive absences be submitted to the Stark County Family Court for the filing of informal or formal truancy charges.
Extra-Curricular Attendance Concerns:
If a student is an athlete or member of a club or group and expects to attend an extra-curricular activity that night, he/she must be present for at least 3 hours during the school day.
